USPHL Elite Players Of The Week: Atlantic / Midwest Divisions

Games of Sept. 17-23, 2024

 

Atlantic Division 

Forward: Dante Scibelli, P.A.L. Jr. Islanders

Scibelli (‘06/Farmingdale, N.Y.) registered a huge 1-6-7 line for his first two games played against the Hershey Cubs on Sept. 21-22, giving him a current league-leading line of 2-7-9 in four games. 

 

Defense: Ilya Baldin, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights

Baldin (‘08/Voronezh, Russia) came up with a goal and three assists for four points as the Knights jumped into their season on Sept. 20 with a decisive shutout victory against Elmira. The Knights are currently in Virginia for the USPHL Southeast Showcase, which kicked off Friday. 

 

Goaltender: Brody Teitelbaum, Rockets Hockey Club 

Teitelbaum (‘07/Livingston, N.J.) put up a good first win for his junior career, stopping 27 of 28 shots against Elmira on Sept. 22. 

 

Midwest Division 

Forward: Jack Schejbal, Chicago Cougars

The returning Cougar Schejbal (‘07/Carol Stream, Ill.) started his season with a goal and four assists for five points to lead his team in a weekend sweep of the Fort Wayne Spacemen to kick off both teams’ 2024-25 season. 

 

Defense: Timothy Boyd, Chicago Cougars 

Boyd (‘06/Aurora, Ill.) is a returning Cougar who showed his experience in helping the Cougars win twice against the Spacemen to open the 2024-25 Midwest Division schedule. He posted a 1-2-3 line and the Spacemen were held to just four goals on the weekend. 

 

Goaltender: Nate Maurin, Chicago Cougars 

Maurin (‘06/Harrison Township, Mich.) made 57 saves on 61 shots against the Spacemen, good for a .934 save percentage to start his junior hockey career.
