USPHL Elite Players Of The Week: South Region

Games of Sept. 17-23

 

Southeast Division 

Forward: Braylen Cox, Potomac Patriots

Braylen Cox (‘05/Nashville, Tenn.) pulled together four goals and added one assist to help the Patriots to a split weekend, including their first win of the season. Cox is a third-year USPHL player 81 games of experience. 

 

Defense: Raymond Johnson, Hampton Roads Whalers

A second-year Elite player, Johnson (‘05/St. Augustine, Fla.) registered a 1-2-3 line over the Whalers’ split against their Virginia rivals the Potomac Patriots. He currently has four points on the season. 

 

Goaltender: Janic Kennedy, Hampton Roads Whalers

Kennedy (‘04/San Diego, Calif.) returned to the Whalers this year and already has made a huge impact. On Sept. 21, he stopped 55 of 58 shots for the 4-1 win against Potomac, his second victory this season. 

 

Florida Division

Forward: Greyson Betzold, Florida Jr. Blades

Betzold (‘05/Eden Prairie, Minn.) put up two goals and two assists for a four-point weekend in a split against the Bold City Battalion. Betzold is in his second season with the Jr. Blades. 

 

Defense: Steven Eberhardt, Bold City Battalion

Eberhardt (‘07/Seaford, N.Y.) earned four assists for his first two games, with three of those coming in the second period to help the Battalion bounce back from being down to eventually win 4-3. 

 

Goaltender: Shane Passaro, Tampa Bay Juniors

Second-year TBJ goalie Passaro (‘04/Palm Springs, Calif.) stopped all 25 shots he faced in his first game of the season on Sept. 21, marking his first “doughnut” of his career.
