USPHL Elite Playoffs Day 7: March 7, 2025

Tampa Bay Juniors 3, Palm Beach Typhoon 2

The USPHL Elite regular season champion Juniors were 3-2 winners against the No. 4 seed Palm Beach Typhoon to start the Florida Division double elimination tournament. Tampa’s Paul Johnson scored twice, and Kelan Jamison and Max Ratliff each had two assists. TBJ  goaltender Shane Passaro stopped 31 of 33 shots, and the Typhoon’s goaltender Jasper Brophy also played well for his team with 34 saves on 37 shots. Tampa Bay will face the Game 2 winners the Florida Eels on Saturday at 12:45 p.m. EST.

 

Florida Eels 3, Florida Jr. Blades 0

The Florida Eels are advancing in the winners bracket of the USPHL Elite Florida Division double-elimination tournament. They defeated the Florida Jr. Blades 3-0 on Friday. Jackson Carnes scored the first and game-winning goal just 4:46 into regulation, while Filip Vitanov posted a 14-save shutout victory to push the Eels forward. They will play the Tampa Bay Juniors at 12:45 p.m. The winner of that game moves on to the Championship, while the losing team will have to battle through at least one more game to stay alive.

 

Chicago Crush 7, Chicago Cougars 3

The Crush  started their 2025 playoffs with a big 7-3 victory against the Chicago Cougars on Friday. Ilja Marich scored a hat trick for the host Crush, Vincent Cerrentano had a goal and two assists and John Martino scored two goals. In total, six Crush players had multiple points. Johnny Augusta made 27 saves on 30 shots.

 

WBS Knights 6, Rockets Hockey Club 4

The Elite’s Knights began their playoffs with a 6-4 victory against the Rockets Hockey Club on Friday. Sean Stewart scored two goals and had one assist, and Matvei Orlov scored a goal and had two assists. Samvel Barsegyan rang up two assists as well. Anthony Shaw came in as a goaltender on relief and stopped all 10 shots he faced after the Knights found themselves down 4-2, before coming back for the win.
