North Division 

Summaries By Joshua Boyd 

Forward: Danil Nikiforov, Boston Junior Bruins

Nikiforov (‘05/Moskva, Russia) scored the final two goals of a five-game, six-goal streak, including a goal that helped push the Junior Bruins to overtime against the first-place Northern Cyclones on Jan. 22. He has 14 goals and 11 assists for 25 points in 21 games this season. 

 

Defense: Kevin Monahan, Bridgewater Bandits

Monahan (‘02/Barnstable, Mass.) posted a goal and an assist as the Bandits split the last week between a loss to the Northern Cyclones and a win over the Springfield Pics. He got on the board first in their game against the Cyclones to give the Bandits an early 1-0 lead. He also had an assist against the Pics in the Bandits’ 6-1 victory. Overall, Monahan has a 6-8-14 line in 37 games, more than double his 2021-22 output of eight points. 

 

Goaltender: Gabe Brissette, Boston Junior Bruins 

Brissette (‘03/Melrose, Mass.) had one of his best performances of the season, and helped the Junior Bruins earn a point against the North’s No. 1 team, the Northern Cyclones. He stopped 45 of 49 shots faced en route to an OT loss to the Cyclones on Jan. 22. 

 

Mid-Atlantic Division 

Summaries by Marlee Bulman

Forward: Louis David, Rockets Hockey Club

Rockets Captain Louis David (‘04/Mountanside, N.J.), played in his 99th and 100th regular season games this past weekend. An amazing milestone for any player, David still gave his all and had four goals and two assists, leading the Rockets to 4-2 and 5-3 wins against Elmira. David now sits at 18-21-39 overall for the season.

 

Defense: Tristan Gilbert, Rockets Hockey Club

Gilbert (‘03/Watertown, N.Y.), of the Rockets Hockey Club was on fire this weekend when visiting Elmira. The defenseman had two goals, one in each game, helping the Rockets to two wins against Elmira. Gilbert now sits with a line of 2-3-5 for the season.

 

Goaltender: Frankie Smith, Jersey Hitmen 

Smith (’04/Little Ferry, N.J.) went 2-0 this weekend, first winning vs. P.A.L. Jr Islanders 5-3, making 29 of 32 shots. Then, on Sunday, he won against the Aviators, 3-1, making 27 saves on 28 shots. In total, he posted 56 saves on 60 shots with a .933 save percentage.
