USPHL Elite 2023-24 South Region Players Of The Week

Games of Dec. 6-12, 2023


Southeast Division 

Forward: Noah Ribeiro, Potomac Patriots

Ribeiro (‘05/Montreal, Que.) put up a goal and six assists for seven points when the Patriots defeated the Charlotte Rush twice over the weekend. This gave him 46 points in 23 games in his first junior season coming out of the Washington Little Capitals program. 


Defense: Kirill Golubev, Potomac Patriots  

Golubev (‘07/Kostroma, Russia) registered a goal and four assists as the Patriots showed their power by sweeping the Rush. He led the Patriots in ice time at 27:15 per game, blocked three shots and tied for the team lead in plus-minus at +4. Golubev has 38 points in 19 games in this his first North American season. 


Goaltender: Jean Berthaudin, Hampton Roads Whalers 

Berthaudin became the league leader in shutouts when he registered his fourth and fifth of the season. All told, Berthaudin stopped all 41 of the Columbia Infantry’s shots – broken up as back-to-back 19-and 22-save performances. Berthaudin improved on his career totals by moving to 10-8-0-0 with a 2.54 GAA and a .931 save percentage. 


Florida Division 

Forward: Kelan Jamison, Tampa Bay Juniors

Jamison (‘06/Flint, Mich.) had his best weekend yet when the Juniors went against the Florida Jr. Blades, scoring four goals – two in each game – and adding one assist for five points. Though originally from Michigan, Jamison is a local product for the Juniors having played for the Clearwater Ice Storm and Tampa Crunch in recent seasons. He now has 15 points in 22 games as a junior rookie. 


Defense: Carter Trussler, Tampa Bay Juniors

An ‘06 and already a veteran blueliner, Trussler – a native of nearby Land O’ Lakes – registered a 1-2-3 line in his two-game series against the Jr. Blades. His +4 was third on the team for the weekend and he led the way with three blocked shots as well. Trussler has 11 points in 14 games this year, and 36 points in 58 career Elite games. 


Goaltender: Jack Horst, Bold City Battalion 

Horst (‘06/Charleston, S.C.) made 25 saves on 26 shots to help his team defeat Palm Beach on Dec. 7 to give him his second straight victory of the season and overall best performance in his young junior career. He has also dressed for the Battalion Premier squad this year.
